Senior Implementation Technical Specialist

The Position 

We are looking for a Senior Implementation Technical Specialist to oversee data migration and technical activities for Oradian’s Implementation team. The successful applicant will exhibit the necessary dedication to become a technical expert and eventually a leader and will thrive under pressure.

You will oversee the end-to-end data migration process on implementation projects. You will analyse the customer’s system and data, work with the customer’s IT team on developing a procedure to extract and transform the data, and then create a data migration plan that describes all of the activities of data migration, who does what, and in what span of time. You may need to write code to do data extraction and transformation in a language such as Python but some customers may be able to manage this process on their own. Regardless, the data migration process is a collaboration between the Senior Technical Specialist and the customer’s own IT team and the Senior Technical Specialist will be responsible for the planning and execution of data migration activities with the customer.

You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for Oradian’s Implementation team. You will analyse the customer’s technical capabilities and needs to successfully integrate with Oradian’s systems and product offerings. You will work with Project Leads to provide technical recommendations as needed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Defining data migration/ETL plans for every project and executing on data migration activities
  • Raising features that could improve team efficiency to Oradian’s Product team
  • Documenting best practices and contributing to Oradian’s data migration documentation
  • Create, maintain, and improve existing internal tools as systems improve
  • Provide technical recommendations to customers for consumption of general API and other extensibility features

In the future, responsibilities may include:

  • Serve as a mentor and technical resource for junior Technical Specialists
  • Running regular meetings to ensure knowledge and best practices are shared among junior Technical Specialists
  • Monitoring junior Technical Specialist performance against data migration/ETL plans
  • Mentoring team members on select technical topics and taking responsibility for overall training needs of the team


Qualifications:

  • At least four years of overall work experience consisting of:
  • Two years of back-end development or data science work
  • Two years of project management experience
  • Degree in computer science, statistics, economics, or related field
  • Experience working with databases, especially in SQL, and managing and cleaning large datasets
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Core banking implementation and/or ETL experience a plus
  • You must be open minded and display strong intercultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize assignments
  • Run multiple work streams in parallel
  • Proven customer relationship expertise and consulting skills to work with customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience and empathy to bring our customers to the next level
